Hi, I’m Kate — a documentary wedding photographer based in Lewes, East Sussex. My passion for photography is rooted in a love of relationships and storytelling — those small, in-between moments that make life feel extraordinary.

I grew up in an orchard, forever climbing trees and watching the world beyond the garden fence. My dad had a darkroom in our first home, where I’d watch photographs appear like magic. My mum, my biggest creative influence, always had a paintbrush or pen in hand, encouraging me to notice the beauty in the ordinary. Those early experiences taught me to look closely, to observe, and to find meaning in the quiet details.

With a background in photography education – having gained a BA in Photography at Sheffield Hallam and going on to study further at the Bauhaus University in Weimar – I’m confident in my craft. Over time I have gained the skill set needed to capture weddings with ease.

I studied photography at Sheffield Hallam and later at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, experiences that shaped how I see light, composition, and human connection. That foundation allows me to photograph weddings with quiet confidence and a deep understanding of storytelling.

I take a patient, unobtrusive approach — waiting for those small interactions that often go unnoticed. Whether it’s a shared laugh, a fleeting glance, or a quiet pause, I’m drawn to the details that tell the truest version of the day.

My aim is to create photographs that feel honest and timeless — images that hold the emotion and atmosphere of your wedding, bringing you back to how it felt, every time you look at them.

When I’m not photographing weddings, you’ll find me in the garden, out on the river rowing, or off on a small adventure with a picnic blanket tucked in the car.

If you’d like to chat about your plans, I’d love to hear from you.

Best wishes,

Kate
